SONG: Education continues to play a key role in preparing the younger generation to face future challenges with knowledge, skills and strong moral values.
Katibas assemblyman, Lidam Assan, stated that today’s education system is dynamic and progressive, constantly evolving in line with the changing times.
He explained that the shifting educational landscape highlights the role of schools not merely as centres for learning, but as institutions for character and personal development.
“Students do not come to school only to gain knowledge but to be nurtured as future leaders of the nation, becoming individuals who are both knowledgeable and morally upright.
“Therefore, various efforts are undertaken to cultivate students as pioneers of knowledge, not just followers, to prepare them with the skills needed for the 21st century and enable them to compete on a global scale,” he said at the 2025 Graduation and Student Excellence Appreciation Ceremony at SMK Song on Thursday.
Lidam also emphasised the significant role of parents in shaping their children’s character, not only through support for school learning but also through continuous guidance at home.
He believes that coordinated and sincere efforts from all parties, including teachers, parents, and students, can lead to success and produce a generation that is both intelligent and of high moral character.
He stressed that today’s student achievements are the result of their own dedication, supported by committed teachers, and encouraged by parents and families.
At the event, Lidam also approved a Rural Small Project grant of RM10,000 for SMK Song teachers and an additional RM10,000 for the school’s Parent-Teacher Association.
