KUCHING: Sarawak-based listed planters — WTK Holdings Bhd, Jaya Tiasa Holdings Bhd, Ta Ann Holdings Bhd and Sarawak Plantation Bhd — have all reported sharply higher production volumes of fresh fruit bunches (FFB) last month as compared to a year ago.

In November 2025, WTK’s FFB output surged by 4,174 tonnes (+22 per cent) to 23,098 tonnes (November 2024: 18,924 tonnes) whereas its crude palm oil (CPO) volume climbed by 1,564 tonnes (+39 per cent) to 5,581 tonnes (4,017 tonnes) and palm kernel (PK) output leapt by 355 tonnes (+44 per cent) to 1,164 tonnes (809 tonnes), according to WTK’s filings with Bursa Malaysia.

However, WTK’s November 2025 FFB output was down by 2,246 tonnes as compared to 25,344 tonnes recorded in October 2025.

Month-on-month, WTK reported positive growth in CPO production volume of 5,581 tonnes (October 2025:5,080 tonnes) and PK of 1,164 tonnes (1,100 tonnes).

Following several acquisitions of oil palm plantations in recent years, WTK group has significantly boosted the size of its oil palm estates and FFB production volume.

On September 4, 2025, WTK had entered into a conditional share sale agreement with WTK Realty Sdn Bhd to acquire another plantation company, Desacorp Sdn Bhd, for RM230 million.

Wholly-owned subsidiary BioPalm Venture Sdn Bhd has also proposed to acquire a 70 per cent equity interest in another plantation firm Imbok Enterprise Sdn Bhd for RM290 million, and a 70 per cent stake in WTK Oil Mill Sdn Bhd for RM35 million.

In total, WTK group will have to fork out RM555 million in cash for these proposed acquisitions, which are expected to be completed in first quarter-2026.

Upon completion, WTK group’s oil palm planted areas will increase by 14,389 hectares (68.1 per cent) to 35,519 hectares from the current 21,130 hectares, and strengthen its footprint in the plantation sector.

On timber, WTK group had reported a plunge in log production to merely 1,914 cubic metres (cu m) last month from 29,697 cu m in November 2024 following the disposals of timber subsidiaries.

The log production volume in October 2025 was 3,935 cu m.

On September 10, 2025, WTK sold Piramid Intan Sdn Bhd (PISB) and Immense Fleet Sdn Bhd (IFSB) for a total of RM40.35 million.

PISB is active in timber extraction and sales whereas IFSB undertake timber trading, reforestation, oil palm planting and sales of fresh fruit bunches.

Earlier this month, WTK had completed the divestment of another timber subsidiary — Song Logging Company Sdn Bhd, which is involved in extraction and sales of logs and timber products, for RM23.5 million.

The group’s PK production output followed a similar trend, rising to 5,637 tonnes last month from 4,330 tonnes a year ago.
