SIMANGGANG: Family members of the couple whose deaths are being investigated at Taman Mutiara, Jalan Brayun here, have described the case as extremely serious and urged the public to refrain from speculation while police complete their probe.
The woman’s father, 68-year-old Kibin Jaya, said the family has placed full trust in the police to conduct a thorough investigation and appealed for restraint from all parties.

“Let the police investigate, let them look at the evidence or the reasons. For now, I ask that no one make any speculation. We will wait for the full findings from the police.
“We are afraid to issue any statement as it could interfere with the investigation, given that this case involves a very serious death,” he told reporters today.
Kibin, a retired teacher, said there were no visible signs of distress or unusual behaviour when he last met the couple a day or two before the incident.
“I did meet them. I come here often (to the victims’ residence) and there were no changes in their behaviour,” he said.
He added that he will take over the care of his three grandchildren following the tragedy.
The husband, 45-year-old Andy Roy Junrah, was the headmaster of SK Sebangki, while his wife, 44-year-old Angelin Waine, worked as a nurse at Hospital Sri Aman.
They are survived by three children aged nine, 16 and 17.
Earlier, Sarawak Police Commissioner, Datuk Mohamad Zainal Abdullah, confirmed that police are investigating the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
He said the couple were found unconscious in their home with signs of severe injuries, prompting further investigation by the authorities.
