KOTA SAMARAHAN: Residents here have welcomed the construction of the Samarahan Boulevard, viewing it as a project that will provide a more comfortable, well-organised and accessible recreational space for the public.
The development is also seen as an effort to enhance the town’s landscape while offering higher-quality public amenities for the community.
The project’s groundbreaking ceremony was officiated by Premier Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg on Jan 17, and the boulevard is expected to encourage greater community interaction as well as family-oriented and healthy lifestyle activities.
When met by Sarawak Tribune, residents expressed largely positive views on the soon-to-be landmark, saying it would benefit the community, particularly in promoting health, well-being and social engagement.

The development of recreational areas such as the Samarahan Boulevard is a positive initiative, as it encourages residents to maintain a healthy lifestyle in a safer and more comfortable environment. Currently, existing facilities are often overcrowded, forcing some people to jog along roadsides where they face safety concerns, including the presence of stray dogs.
