LAWAS: The Lawas Administrative Office Complex (AOC) is expected to begin full operations in March.
State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki said the government departments in the Lawas district are set to occupy the newly built AOC by Feb this year to improve public service delivery in northern Sarawak.
“That administrative operations at the complex are scheduled to begin in full in March, allowing the public to conduct transactions with government agencies in a more organised, modern, and conducive environment.
“The construction of the AOC is not merely the provision of physical infrastructure, but also a strategic investment by the state government to enhance administrative efficiency, accelerate service delivery, and bridge the gap in access to government facilities for the local community,” he said.
He said during a working visit to the site on Sunday (Jan 25).
He added that the project also reflects the Sarawak government’s commitment to ensuring balanced development across all regions, including border areas, in line with the aspiration to strengthen governance and the well-being of the people.
“The AOC is expected to act as a catalyst for local socio-economic growth, while also enhancing the image of public services as more professional and people-friendly,” he added.
