LUMUT, Perak: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar arrived safely at Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) Air Base, Lumut, here to commence a two-day official visit to the RMN Lumut Naval Base and Lumut Naval Shipyard Sdn Bhd.
He arrived with his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi on Monday and was received by RMN’s Chief Admiral Tan Sri (Dr) Zulhelmy Ithnain, Deputy Navy Chief Vice-Admiral Datuk Badarudin Taha, Western Fleet Commander Vice-Admiral Datuk Baharudin Wan Md Nor, along with their respective spouses.
Also accompanying Wan Junaidi were Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, and his wife, Datin Sri Zuraini Abdul Jabbar.
Upon arrival, Wan Junaidi and Fauziah were accorded an official welcome, followed by a prayer.
They then proceeded to the Western Fleet Commander’s Headquarters to receive the Main Guard of Honour in accordance with established military protocol and ceremonial procedures.
The official visit is scheduled to include tours of the RMN Lumut Naval Base, a fellowship session with Sarawakians, and the Naming and Launching Ceremony of Littoral Combat Ship 3, which is slated to take place tomorrow (Tues, Feb 10).
