KUCHING: Maxis Bhd lifted FY2025 profit after tax 11.8 per cent to RM1,561 million, as Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortisation (EBITDA) rose 5.0 per cent to RM4,329 million.

The company said the performance was supported by disciplined cost management, digitalisation initiatives and operational efficiencies.

“Service revenue increased 0.5 per cent to RM8,912 million, supported by consistent performance in the Consumer Business and growth in the Enterprise Business,” it added.

Maxis also declared a total dividend of 17.5 sen for FY2025, including a fourth interim dividend of 4 sen per share and a one-time dividend of 1.5 sen per share for 4Q25.

Its Chief Executive Officer, Goh Seow Eng, said the group delivered within its full-year guidance.

“Our disciplined execution and operational focus delivered results consistent with our guidance, underscored by one of our highest ever EBITDA,” he added.

He said the board’s dividend decision followed the year’s performance.

“Reflecting this strong profitability, we are pleased to announce a total dividend of 17.5 sen for the year, including a fourth interim dividend of 4 sen and a one-time dividend of 1.5 sen declared for the quarter.”

He said Maxis will focus on its next phase of growth across consumer and enterprise segments.

“Looking ahead, our strategy is to strengthen our consumer segment and expand our enterprise offerings beyond connectivity, including the growth of our wholesale business,” he reiterated.

“We are investing in our network infrastructure and utilising AI-driven digitalisation to enhance efficiency and meet future demands.”

By segment, Consumer Mobile service revenue declined 0.6 per cent to RM6,230 million, which Maxis attributed mainly to changes in commercial arrangements related to the Maxis Device Care programme, consistent with prior quarterly announcements during FY2025.

It said that excluding this impact and lower interconnect rates, underlying Consumer Mobile revenue improved. Total mobile subscribers rose 2.8 per cent to 9.98 million, driven by fresh acquisitions and prepaid-to-postpaid migration strategies.

“Consumer Home crossed the RM1 billion service revenue mark for the first time, with revenue up 2.4 per cent to RM1,017 million and subscriptions up 1.9 per cent to 799,000, driven by wireless broadband take-up.

“Enterprise Business service revenue grew 3.4 per cent to RM1,665 million, led by the Fixed & Solutions portfolio and resilient mobile growth, while fourth quarter performance was lifted by project completions and deal closures.”

For the year, Maxis reported capex of RM986 million, within its full-year guidance of around RM1 billion, while operating free cash flow strengthened 17.2 per cent to RM3,583 million from effective working capital management.

The company said key FY2025 initiatives included accepting the 2x10MHz of 2100MHz spectrum assignment from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission.

It also said it is expanding its proprietary fibre network in Penang, with the objective of connecting over 100,000 homes by 2027 and launching Malaysia’s first Quantum Safe Networking solution.

“In addition to this, we also launched a GenAI-powered conversational assistant within the Maxis app, introduced Maxis Home Solar and partnered the Ministry of Education to introduce GenAI modules through Maxis eKelas.
