KUALA LUMPUR: FBG Holdings Bhd’s (FBG) wholly owned subsidiary, FBG Builder Sdn Bhd, has secured a RM238.1-million contract to undertake the construction of a hotel in Johor Bahru.
In a statement on Thursday, the group said it had received a letter of acceptance from MVS Southpoint Hotel Sdn Bhd, an indirect subsidiary of IGB Bhd, for the project.
The contract involves the construction and completion of the main building works for a 25-storey hotel block with 375 rooms and related facilities above The Mall, Mid Valley Southkey.
The project is scheduled to commence on March 1, 2026, and is targeted for completion by June 30, 2028, a two-year and four-month period.
FGB said that, including this project, FBG’s order book stands at RM1.23 billion, providing earnings visibility through 2028.
FBG group executive chairman, Tan Sri Chan Kong Choy, said this contract, supported by a robust pipeline of projects, does not only enhances the group’s local footprint in Johor but will also contribute positively to its performance and longterm growth. – BERNAMA
