BINTULU: Firefighters’ swift response prevented two houses from being completely destroyed in a blaze at RPR Kidurong today (Feb 22).
According to a report from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a distress call was received at 11.21am regarding a fire incident at the residential area.
Firefighters from the Bintulu station were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, they found two houses on fire.
“There were no reports of casualties.
“The first house sustained about 80 per cent damage, while the second house suffered approximately 40 per cent damage, mainly in the kitchen area.
“The firefighters managed to control and extinguish the blaze,” the statement said.
It added that overhaul operations were carried out to ensure the fire was fully extinguished and the area was safe before the team concluded the operation.
