LUNDU: Immediate assistance was extended to two families who lost their homes in a fire at Kampung Sampadi here on Wednesday, with Tanjong Datu state assemblyman, Azizul Annuar Adenan, stepping in to help ease their burden.

Azizul visited the affected families and presented basic necessities, including food baskets containing rice and eggs, as well as cash contributions to support their immediate needs.

In the incident, two houses were completely destroyed, leaving eight occupants – four from each household – homeless.

Fortunately, no fatalities or injuries were reported.

During the visit, Azizul conveyed his sympathy and offered words of encouragement to the victims.

He also reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring their welfare continues to be monitored in collaboration with the relevant agencies, including arrangements for temporary shelter and support for the children’s schooling needs.
