KUCHING: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg attended a breaking of fast ceremony with community leaders and members of the public on Thursday.
The event took place at the Satria Pertiwi Complex, where Abang Johari joined guests for the breaking of fast, followed by Maghrib, Isyak and congregational Tarawih prayers.
Upon his arrival, the Premier was welcomed by distinguished guests, local leaders and residents. The programme began with the recitation of verses from the Quran before guests gathered to await the call to break fast.
As the Maghrib azan was called, he joined the congregation in breaking fast and later performed the Maghrib prayer.
The event proceeded with Isyak and Tarawih prayers in a warm and cordial atmosphere, reflecting close ties between the state leadership and the grassroots community.
His presence was seen as a reflection of the Sarawak government’s continued commitment to engage with the people, particularly during the month of Ramadan.
Guests described the gathering as an initiative that strengthens unity, fosters goodwill and enhances the relationship between leaders and the people.
