Collaboration between corporate, government and communities lauded

KUCHING: The Ramadan Prihatin Programme showcases the spirit of compassion and solidarity among communities through the distribution of essential aid to needy families and uniformed personnel.

The Ramadan outreach programme was jointly organised by PETRONAS Sarawak, Yayasan Kebajikan Negara (YKN), Yayasan Dakwah Islamiah Malaysia (YADIM), Persatuan Keluarga Polis (PERKEP) and Santubong Constitency Parliamentary Office.

Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri said the collaboration reflected a strong spirit of togetherness between the corporate sector, government agencies, and grassroots communities.

During the programme, PETRONAS Sarawak contributed 150 food baskets to enliven the recipients’ enthusiasm for the upcoming festive season.

“In addition, 100 motorcycle helmets were donated in support of the Road Safety Campaign, aimed at safeguarding road users,” she when officiating the Ramadan Prihatin Programme at Darul Hana Mosque, Sarawak Marine Police Region Five Headquarters today.

She added that during Ramadan outreach, any kind of assistance for the needy is sincerely extended and compassion was also shown for those who serve the nation.
“The programme benefits 50 uniformed personnel from the Marine Police Force who are on duty during festive season to safeguard national security, as well as 77 asnaf recipients under the JAKASEH Zone, covering the Pantai Damai constituency area.

“We are honoured to celebrate it with the Marine Police Force, further strengthening the strategic relationship between elected representatives and national security agencies,” she said.

Additionally, she also presented a financial contribution of RM3,000 to support activities at the mosque.

Earlier in the day, a gotong-royong effort was carried out to prepare 1,000 containers of bubur lambuk, which were shared with attendees and the public as part of the spirit of giving during Ramadan.

Following the handover of food baskets at the mosque, the distribution of bubur lambuk to members of the public was also held at the PETRONAS Petrol Station in Bintawa Ulu.
