MUKAH: Firsthand inspections of healthcare facilities enable the ministry to formulate more targeted measures to enhance service delivery, particularly in rural areas, says Deputy Health Minister Datuk  Hanifah Hajar Taib.

Haniah, who is also Mukah Member of Parliament, said that conducting on-the-ground visits allows the ministry to assess actual conditions at health clinics while gaining a clearer understanding of the needs of healthcare personnel and the surrounding communities.

“This face-to-face approach allows for more comprehensive and targeted improvements to enhance the quality of healthcare service delivery.

“Continuous improvements in terms of facilities, manpower and logistical support are crucial to ensure that quality and comprehensive healthcare services can be enjoyed by residents, particularly those in rural areas,” she said.

She said this when met by reporters after a working visit to Kuala Oya Health Clinic, Dalat here on Saturday (Feb 28).

She added that the ministry remains committed to strengthening the national healthcare system, especially in rural areas, in line with efforts to improve the people’s well-being in an inclusive and sustainable manner.

Kuala Oya Health Clinic currently provides services to approximately 5,397 residents from nine surrounding villages.

After the visit to Kuala Oya Health Clinic, Hanifah also conducted a working visit to Kampung Medong Health Clinic.

During both visits, she received comprehensive briefings on service delivery, staffing, existing facilities and constraints requiring immediate attention.
