SARIKEI: The establishment of a digital room in schools is seen as a significant step in enhancing the quality of teaching and learning in line with the rapid advancement of the digital and intelligent technology era.

Deputy Minister of Plantation and Commodities Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii said the facility provides early exposure for students to technology usage and the mastery of digital skills, which are increasingly important today.

“With this facility, students can be introduced to technology at an earlier stage and acquire essential digital skills to enhance their competitiveness in the future.

“It will also serve as a strong foundation for them to pursue higher education and enter the workforce,” he said at the Chinese New Year celebration, School Open Day and Digital Room opening ceremony at SJK Su Tak here recently.

Also present was Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian.
Meanwhile, Huang, who is also Sarikei MP, expressed confidence that the commitment of teachers and the support of parents would continue to help students thrive in a more conducive and competitive learning environment.

He noted that SJK Su Tak, located in Sungai Pasi near the main Sarikei–Bintangor road, has also benefited from the construction of a connecting road from Sungai Pasi to Tanjung Manis last year.

According to him, the improved infrastructure not only enhances accessibility but also stimulates local development and attracts population growth to the Sarikei area.

He added that the increase in the local population is expected to boost student enrolment at SJK Su Tak, further strengthening the area’s educational development potential.

The Repok assemblyman also expressed appreciation for the leadership of the Premier in ensuring continued political stability and economic prosperity in Sarawak.

He said unity among the multi-racial community remains a vital foundation in driving the development of Sarikei and Maradong towards a brighter future.
