MIRI: Persatuan Peniaga Wireless Walk Miri has recorded a strong turnout for its second-hand Hari Raya clothing distribution, with many low-income residents arriving early to select traditional outfits ahead of Aidil Fitri later this month.

The community-led initiative, held at Wireless Walk Miri, offers donated baju kurung and baju Melayu to those in need, reflecting a practical response to rising living costs as the festive season approaches.

Association chairman Mohamad Abdullah Jamin said the programme was aimed at easing the financial burden on families who may otherwise struggle to afford new Raya attire.

“We are deeply grateful for the generosity shown by members of the public who contributed these clothes.

“Their kindness allows us to extend meaningful support to the community during an important celebration. We pray they are rewarded with good health and continued sustenance,” he said.

The distribution will continue until all donated items have been given out. Organisers said the steady flow of visitors underscored both the demand for assistance and the effectiveness of grassroots cooperation.

Members of the public in need of Raya clothing are encouraged to visit the distribution point at Kios Pot Santai Santai Drink, Lot 10, Zone C, Wireless Walk Miri.

The organisers confirmed that the programme will remain open daily until supplies are exhausted.
