BALINGIAN: More than 250 packets of briyani rice were distributed on Monday (March 2) at Pekan Lama Balingian during a Ramadan programme designed to strengthen community ties.

The Briyani Rice Distribution event was jointly organised by SABERKAS Balingian Branch, Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Youth N58 Balingian, the N58 Balingian Service Centre, and One Head Balingian.

In a statement to Japen, SABERKAS Balingian Branch Secretary Muhammad Tarmizi Kharnain said the programme aimed to enliven the spirit of Ramadan while fostering closer bonds within the local community.

He added that the initiative also sought to cultivate a spirit of sharing and reinforce values of care and togetherness among residents.

The distribution was officiated by Balingian assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi.

Also in attendance were Mukah Division Resident Datu Kueh Lei Poh, Mukah District Officer Peleadzman Ahip, Mukah District Police Chief DSP Muhamad Rizal Alias, along with various department heads and local community leaders.
