BALINGIAN: All parties share a collective responsibility to ensure that Mukah and its surrounding areas remain free from drug-related problems.
Balingian assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi praised the efforts of the Malaysian Drug Prevention Association (PEMADAM) Mukah in tackling drug abuse in the district.
“I urge the entire community—including parents, village leaders such as Community Leaders and Village Chiefs (KMKK), and local organisations—to continue working together in supporting initiatives to prevent drug abuse.
“The cooperation of all parties is essential if we are to remain peaceful, prosperous, and free from drugs,” he said during a breaking-of-fast programme held recently at the Balingian sub-district office.
Abdul Yakub emphasised that the ongoing commitment from PEMADAM, alongside strong community support, is vital in keeping the area safe from the threat of drugs.
He also expressed hope that similar programmes would continue in the future, serving not only as platforms to raise awareness but also to strengthen unity within the community.
“Approaches like these are particularly effective in delivering awareness messages, especially to youths and residents in the Balingian constituency,” he added.
