MUKAH: Residents in the Tellian constituency are reaping the benefits of improved infrastructure following the completion of four Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) projects worth RM650,000.

Royston said the projects demonstrate the government’s commitment to maintaining good connectivity within village areas.

“We hope these facilities will bring maximum benefit to residents,” he told reporters after officiating the site handover session on Monday (March 2).

He added that safeguarding and maintaining the infrastructure is a shared responsibility, ensuring it can be used for years to come.

Royston also expressed his sincere appreciation to the Premier of Sarawak for the RTP allocation, which has significantly enhanced the quality of basic facilities in rural communities.

According to UKAS, the projects were completed on schedule and included upgrades to walkways and bridges at Kampung Petanak, Kampung Petanak Hilir, Kampung Petanak Hulu, and Kampung Tellian Laut.

The handover ceremony was also attended by Tellian Community Service Centre special officer Jay Keram, Mukah Division Department of Irrigation and Drainage officer Melvina Narusan, village heads, and the contractor.
