KUCHING: The head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, has been formally invited to attend the State-level Nuzul Al-Quran celebration during a courtesy call at his official residence here today.
The delegation from the organising committee was led by Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Coordinator for Regional Development Projects, DBKU and Islamic Affairs), Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi.
The objective of the visit was to invite Wan Junaidi and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, to the celebration scheduled to be held at Masjid Bandar Sri Aman on March 6.
The event will also be graced by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, who is expected to deliver a keynote address.
Programmes lined up in conjunction with the celebration include a Ramadan outreach visit (Ziarah Ramadan), a Quranic seminar under the ‘Forum Perdana Saudara Kita’ event, a Quran recitation by the 2026 Sarawak State-level Tilawah Al-Quran champion Jubni Sulong, and a Nuzul Al-Quran tazkirah by the Director of the Islamic Centre of Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Dr Sarip Adul.
