KOTA SAMARAHAN: A total of 136 asnaf (zakat-eligible) recipients in the Stakan constituency received cash assistance under the Ramadan Outreach Programme.
The contributions were presented by Stakan assemblyman Datuk Hamzah Brahim during his visit to Masjid Darul Ibadah in Kampung Pangkalan Kuap on Wednesday (Mar 4), as part of his ongoing grassroots engagement with the local community.
Of the total, 106 recipients were from Kampung Pangkalan Kuap, 11 from Kampung Quop Dayak and 19 from Sekolah Tunas Bakti.
Hamzah said the selection of recipients was carried out in close collaboration with village leaders to ensure the aid reached those most in need.
“Alhamdulillah, we share the blessings we have together. The selection was made with the cooperation of the village leadership to make sure the assistance truly benefits the deserving groups,” he said in his speech.
In addition to the individual contributions, RM2,000 was handed over to the Management Committee of Masjid Darul Ibadah Kampung Pangkalan Kuap to support mosque activities and programmes throughout Ramadan.
Hamzah also urged residents to prioritise safety, particularly in the use of electrical appliances and decorative lighting installations, to reduce the risk of fire incidents ahead of the upcoming festive season.
He also announced that he will host an Aidilfitri open house on Mar 29 at the compound of his service centre, inviting residents across the constituency to attend and strengthen community ties.
