MIRI: The construction of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Long Pelutan in Baram has been completed, providing improved and more conducive facilities for students and teachers in the rural area.

The Public Works Department (PWD) Sarawak said the project involved the construction of 12 building blocks and supporting facilities to enhance the school’s infrastructure.

“The project includes a four-storey administration block housing six classrooms, a dining hall block, two hostel blocks, and two toilet blocks for students,” the department said in its official Facebook page today.

The project also includes three semi-D barrack type teacher quarters, two pump houses, and one genset house to support the school’s operations.

In addition, the project covered external works, furniture provision, demolition works, piling works, as well as mechanical and electrical installations to ensure the facilities are fully functional.

PWD Sarawak said the completion of the project reflects its continued commitment to provide quality educational infrastructure, particularly in improving access and the learning environment for communities in rural areas.
