RECIPIENTS of the Sumbangan Keperluan Asas Sarawak (SKAS) have welcomed the assistance, describing it as timely support to help ease daily expenses during the fasting month.
They also appreciated the use of SPay Global, which allows recipients to conveniently spend the assistance at supermarkets and shops accepting the SKAS payment system.
Sarawak Tribune spoke to several of them to get their comments on this matter.
Dayang Hadijah Awang Bidin, 64 , Housewife:

I feel very grateful to receive the assistance from the Sumbangan Keperluan Asas Sarawak (SKAS) programme. As a retiree living on a limited income, every bit of support means a lot to people like me.
The cost of living today is quite high, especially when it comes to buying basic groceries. I plan to use the assistance to purchase essentials such as rice, cooking oil, sugar, and other daily household items. This will certainly help reduce some of my monthly expenses.
I hope the government will continue this initiative in the future so that senior citizens and low-income families can continue receiving support to manage their daily needs.
Ain Farazia Effendy ,43, Kitchen Helper:

I am thankful for the assistance provided through the Sumbangan Keperluan Asas Sarawak (SKAS) initiative because it really helps families like mine manage our daily expenses.
With the rising cost of living, groceries and other household necessities have become more expensive. I plan to use the assistance to buy food items such as rice, cooking oil, canned food, and other kitchen supplies for my family.
Even though it may seem like a small amount, it still makes a difference when managing a household budget. I hope the government will continue this programme so that more families can benefit and ease their financial burden.

Malisa Biri, 27, Housewife:
The Sumbangan Keperluan Asas Sarawak (SKAS) assistance makes it easier for me and my family, especially during the fasting month and as we prepare to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
It is also very good that the assistance is channelled through SPay Global because it makes it convenient for many users. At the moment, many supermarkets and shops already accept SKAS payments, which makes it easier for us to purchase our daily necessities.

Abdul Aziz, 20 , Student:
I feel thankful that my family can benefit from the Sumbangan Keperluan Asas Sarawak (SKAS) assistance because it helps ease some of our household expenses.
As a student, I understand that managing family finances can be challenging, especially with the rising prices of basic goods. My family plans to use the assistance to buy groceries such as rice, eggs, and other essential food items.
Even though I am still studying, I can see how helpful this kind of support is for families like mine. I hope the government will continue providing this assistance to help families cope with the increasing cost of living.
