KUCHING: The Sarawak Rural Water Supply Department (JBALB) launched the first edition of its data guidebook during a press conference at Raia Hotel on Monday (March 9) in conjunction with World Water Day 2026.
The first edition, titled “Kitak Tauk Sik?” focuses on water treatment plants information operated by Sarawak JBALB, including plant capacity, location and the role of these plants in ensuring clean water supplies can be channeled to rural residents.
Sarawak JBALB director Ahmad Selihin Che Said said that the book is important to spread knowledge and awareness within communities.
“The book compiles reference materials in a more structured and accessible manner, allowing readers to understand the information more easily.”

By documenting these details in a structured format, the publication provides readers with a clearer picture of the scale and scope of Sarawak’s water supply infrastructure.
“The book also highlights our extensive efforts in ensuring reliable water services for communities, particularly in rural areas.”
Deputy director Kueh Li Li said the publication of this book is an important initiative through its Technical Services Sector and Operations Sector.
“We hope the book will serve as a valuable reference for Sarawak JBALB personnel, government agencies, stakeholders and the public in better understanding of Sarawak’s water supply system.”
Moving forward, Sarawak JBALB plans to expand the contents of the guidebook in future editions.
“This initiative reflects JBALB’s commitment to transparency, public engagement and knowledge sharing regarding water supply management in Sarawak.”
