KOTA SAMARAHAN: The Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS) is intensifying efforts to strengthen smart city development with the implementation of various digital initiatives and strategic urban planning.

MPKS chairman Abang Ismawi Abang Ali said the effort is being reinforced through the organisation of a Smart City Initiative Engagement Session, which brought together various government agencies, private sector representatives and educational institutions to gather information and feedback on smart city development here.

According to him, the input obtained from the session will serve as a key reference in formulating a Smart City Master Plan and Smart City Action Plan that are more comprehensive and practical for the MPKS administrative area.

“All input and information gathered from this engagement session are valuable assets in shaping the direction of sustainable smart city development in Kota Samarahan,” he said when summarising the discussion of the programme held here recently.

He emphasised that digital transformation and smart city development are long-term journeys that require continuous collaboration between local authorities, government agencies and the private sector.

He added that strategic synergy among all parties is crucial to ensure that every planned initiative can be implemented effectively and ultimately benefit the local community.
