KAJANG: The National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK) will open special family visits for clients undergoing rehabilitation at Narcotics Addiction Rehabilitation Centres (PUSPEN) nationwide during the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.
AADK Director-General, Datuk Ruslin Jusoh, said the sessions will involve clients undergoing the Institutional Treatment and Rehabilitation Programme (RPDI) at all PUSPEN centres across the country.
“The visits will be held from March 29 to April 2 for centres in Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah.
“For Pahang, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Selangor, the Federal Territories, Perak, Johor, Penang, Perlis, Sabah and Sarawak, the sessions will take place from March 30 to April 3,” he said in a statement on Thursday (March 12).
Ruslin said the initiative aims to strengthen family ties while providing clients with the moral support needed throughout their treatment and rehabilitation process.
He added that the visits will also allow families to witness the positive progress made by clients while undergoing the RPDI programme.
“The sessions will provide an opportunity for families or guardians to meet clients in a supportive and therapeutic setting to aid their recovery,” he said.
“Families or guardians who wish to participate are advised to contact the respective PUSPEN rehabilitation officer via phone call, SMS, WhatsApp, letter or email.”
Members of the public may also contact the relevant PUSPEN for further information or reach the AADK hotline at 1-800-22-2235 or WhatsApp 019-626 2233 for advice or complaints related to drug-related issues.
