KUCHING: Sarawak’s development agenda and key needs were the focus of a special state development meeting chaired jointly by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at the Satria Pertiwi Complex here today.
The meeting, which lasted about an hour, discussed the implementation of development initiatives as well as matters related to the state’s current requirements.
It formed part of the Prime Minister’s ongoing initiative to visit states and hold direct engagements with state leadership to review development implementation and address issues involving the respective states.

Among those present were Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Amar Fadillah Yusof, and Deputy Premiers, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian.
Other attendees included Chief Secretary to the Government, Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, and Sarawak State Secretary, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki.
Earlier, Anwar arrived at the Kuching International Airport (KIA) at approximately 1.40 pm on a special aircraft for one-day official working visit to Kuching before proceeding to Satria Pertiwi Complex at 2.14 pm, where he was received by Abang Johari.
