KUCHING: A woman in her 90s was found dead inside her apartment at KMC Flat Block Betong, Jalan Central Timur, Ban Hock here on Friday night (Mar 13).
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said personnel from the Padungan station were deployed after receiving an emergency call at 9.10 pm.
Initial information from the caller stated that their mother was inside the house and the door could not be opened from outside.
“Upon arrival, firefighters forced open the door of the unit on the fifth floor and found the elderly woman unconscious inside the house.
“Health Ministry personnel later confirmed that the victim had died at the scene,” Bomba said in a statement.
The deceased was identified as Ku Nyuk Yin, aged over 90.
Her body was handed over to the authorities for further action.
The operation concluded at 9.55 pm.
