KUCHING: Maxim E-hailing Malaysia expanded its Ramadan corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts this year, reaching out to tahfiz institutions and welfare homes across three Sarawak cities with food aid, transportation assistance, and duit raya contributions.
According to the press statement released on Monday (Mar 16), the programme began in Kuching, where the Maxim team visited Baiturrahmah Welfare Home.
Going beyond a simple donation drop-off, volunteers carried out a range of repair and improvement works at the home, including repainting sections of the building, fixing leaking pipes, repairing broken doors, replacing damaged electrical switches and lights, and cleaning the surrounding area.
Baiturrahmah Welfare Home caretaker Abdul Rahman expressed his gratitude, saying he was proud that an organisation had taken the time to care for the home.
“We hope this will not be the first and last time, and if the opportunity arises, we look forward to organising more activities together in the future,” he said.
During the second week of Ramadan, the team — joined by seven of its drivers — made the journey to Institut Tahfiz Bintulu.
They brought along essential groceries such as rice, cooking oil, and condensed milk, and also handed over a mock cheque for RM300 in transportation assistance to the institution.
Institut Tahfiz Bintulu director Husin Zaenal Aridin thanked Maxim for the meaningful contributions made through the programme.
The initiative wrapped up in Miri during the final weeks of Ramadan, where the Maxim Miri team and five drivers visited Maahad Tahfiz An Naim in Lutong.
The team delivered food supplies and transportation assistance and also distributed duit raya to 20 students at the centre ahead of Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
Maahad Tahfiz An Naim director Mohd Zulkifli Mohd Adnan expressed appreciation for the support and looked forward to future collaboration.
Through this Ramadan initiative, Maxim Malaysia reaffirmed its commitment to giving back to local communities, supporting both educational institutions and welfare homes across the state.
