BAU: Eight men were busted by police during a raid under ‘Ops Tapis’ for allegedly being involved in drug abuse activities in Bau district.

Bau District Police Chief, Supt Mohd Haide A. Rahman, said police conducted a patrol under ‘Ops Tapis’ from 5 am to 10 am on March 19.

The patrol by police personnel from the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) was done in Kampung Sibuluh, Kampung Sungai Pinang, Kampung Kandis Baru and Kampung Melayu Siniawan.

“From this patrol, police apprehended eight male individuals between the ages of 20 to 50 years old, who were allegedly involved in drug abuse activities. The suspects were all tested positive for drugs through urine screening test,” said Mohd Haide.

All of the suspects are arrested under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952.
