KUCHING: A new leadership chapter began for Junior Chamber International (JCI) Damai as Vivizona Lee was officially installed as its 2026 Local President, taking over from outgoing president Sean Wong during the organisation’s 38th Installation and Awards Ceremony.

The symbolic passing of the baton marked continuity, trust and a renewed commitment to leadership and community impact within the organisation.

The ceremony, held at The Mandarin Restaurant here on March 15, brought together distinguished guests, JCI leaders and members from across the country.

Batu Kitang assemblyman, Datuk Lo Khere Chiang, commended JCI Damai’s consistent growth and strong sense of brotherhood, noting that he had witnessed the organisation’s progress over the past four years.

He also praised the 2025 board of directors for their dedication and resilience, while encouraging the new leadership team to lead with courage, unity and purpose.

Also present were JCI Malaysia National President, JCI Senator Vincent Leng, and JCI Malaysia Senate President, JCI Senator Tham Chin Yuh.

Meanwhile Vincent highlighted that the ceremony was his fourth installation event of the weekend, underscoring the organisation’s national momentum.

He reiterated JCI Malaysia’s theme, ‘Power of One’, stressing that collective strength can drive meaningful change when members unite.

“I encouraged youths to join JCI early to begin their leadership journey, adding that beyond leadership development, the organisation fosters lifelong friendships,” he said.

Vincent further noted JCI Damai’s international ties, including its sisterhood with Korea, and expressed confidence in its continued growth towards the ‘Road to 5000’ membership goal.

The event also saw participation from various JCI local organisations nationwide, including those from Sibu, Bintulu, Miri, Penang, Sabah, Kuala Lumpur and Kelantan, reflecting strong unity within JCI Malaysia.

An awards presentation was also held to recognise outstanding members for their dedication, leadership and service throughout the year.

The ceremony was organised under the leadership of organising chairperson Karen Sim and concluded on a high note, signalling a fresh chapter for JCI Damai as it continues its efforts to empower young leaders and contribute positively to the community.
