ISTANBUL: Prices at most four-star hotels in Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates have dropped by up to 75 per cent in April to around US$50-US$60 per night, while at five-star hotels, they have dropped by over 66 per cent to US$100-US$150 amid the escalation in the region, RIA Novosti found.
The agency analysed hotel offers for two guests as of early April.
Specifically, in Abu Dhabi, a double room at the four-star Mercure hotel costs US$54, compared to at least US$200-US$250 in January and February. A similar picture is seen at the TRYP by Wyndham hotel, with rooms starting at US$57, Ramada Downtown at US$54, and La Quinta by Wyndham at US$61.
Five-star hotels in Abu Dhabi have slashed their prices by approximately half to tho-thirds: Rixos Marina offers rooms starting at US$225, Ritz-Carlton at US$231, Shangri-La at US$201, and Radisson at US$125, with these prices valid throughout April.
In Dubai, the picture is similar: four-star hotels offer rooms for an average of US$50-US$60, including the Stella Di Mare, Time Oak, and Hyatt Place.
A room at the five-star Dusit Thani starts at US$95, while the Hilton Jumeirah will set you back at least US$155, the Pullman Jumeirah at US$90, the Radisson Blu at US$87, and the Movenpick Jumeirah at US$167.
Daytime temperatures in the UAE in April range from 25-30 degrees Celsius.
