KUCHING: Kuching City FC (KCFC) has called on the Malaysian Football League (MFL) to conduct a detailed investigation into an alleged technical error involving the registration of import player, Scott Wood.

KCFC’s president who is also the Chief Political Secretary to the Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman said the club has submitted an official statement together with a full chronology of the incident for further action.

The issue is understood to have occurred when the official match list was submitted by match officials, where Wood’s name was allegedly omitted and replaced with Daniel Amier, despite the latter not travelling with the team due to injury.

“As we have stated previously, we will pursue this matter based on the regulations in place, and we will request MFL to carefully review this issue,” he said.

He was speaking to reporters during his Aidilfitri open house held at Dewan Hikmah today.

He added that the club believes there may have been an oversight or technical error on the part of match officials, which resulted in Wood’s exclusion from the official list.

In this regard, KCFC hopes MFL will examine the matter fairly and comprehensively, and provide appropriate recommendations and solutions to the club’s appeal.

“We are requesting MFL to investigate and put forward suitable recommendations and a resolution to our application,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Aidilfitri open house was lively, with attendance from people of various races and religions, as well as several state leaders.
