BATU KAWAN, Seberang Perai, Penang: Integrated engineering supporting services provider, UWC Bhd, posted a higher net profit of RM12.81 million for its second quarter (2Q) ended January 31, 2026, as against RM9.62 million in the same quarter a year ago.
Revenue for the quarter rose to RM136.41 million from RM92.40 million in the corresponding quarter a year ago, mainly attributable to a strong recovery in the semiconductor industry, the group said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.
It said that for the first half period ended January 31, 2026, the group posted a higher net profit of RM29.92 million versus RM16.19 million in the corresponding period a year prior, with revenue rising to RM257.26 million from RM181.82 million previously.
Meanwhile, in a separate statement, Executive Director and Group Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Seri Ng Chai Eng, said the group is seeing clear signs of recovery in the semiconductor industry, driven by improving enquiries and order momentum.
He said that at the same time, the company is accelerating its capacity expansion to ensure UWC is well-positioned to support this upcycle and capture emerging opportunities.
“While foreign exchange affected our reported earnings for this quarter, our underlying business fundamentals remain robust.
“With a growing pipeline of projects and sustained demand across the semiconductor segment, we are confident in our ability to create long-term value for our stakeholders,” he added. – BERNAMA
