KABONG: Fishermen are reminded to reduce their dependence on middlemen to ensure that the local fishing industry continues to grow.
Kabong assemblyman Datuk Mohd Chee Kadir said that it is time for the Persatuan Nelayan Kawasan (PNK) Kabong to transform by accepting several suggestions for improvements, especially in the association’s management.
“The main thing is to increase the value of fishermen’s products and expand marketing and supply chains.
“At the same time reducing dependence on middlemen, in addition to encouraging the involvement of fishermen’s children through a more modern and technological approach to ensure that the local fishing industry continues to grow,” he said.
