ASAJAYA: Kembara 11 have retained the ‘28th Edition Sebangan Open Football Tournament, Dato Sri Julaihi Narawi Cup 2026’ title after a dominant run in the competition.

In the final held yesterday (Mar 29) at the Kampung Sebangan football field in Sebuyau, the home side and defending champions delivered a commanding performance to defeat Toyol FC 3–1.

The triumph earned Kembara 11 a cash prize of RM5,000, along with the championship trophy and jerseys, while runners-up Toyol FC took home RM3,000, a trophy, and jerseys.

Adding to their success, Kembara 11’s young striker Mohd Amirul Matnor was named Best Player of the tournament, receiving a trophy and a cash award.

In the third-place playoff, Sukma FC edged Lamasia FC 1–0 to secure RM1,500, along with a trophy and jerseys. Lamasia FC, finishing fourth, received RM750 and a trophy.

The prize-giving ceremony was officiated by Sebuyau Assistant District Officer Louis Andri Barieng, representing Minister of Utility and Telecommunication and Sebuyau assemblyman Datuk Seri Julaihi Narawi

Tournament chairman Osman Jamel said the competition, which kicked off on the third day of Hari Raya, brought together 32 teams representing clubs and villages from Sebuyau, Sadong Jaya, Asajaya, and Kuching.

“We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Datuk Seri Julaihi Narawi and all parties for their support and cooperation in making this tournament a success,” he said after the ceremony.

Osman added that he hopes the strong spirit of collaboration will continue in future editions.
