MIRI: Three futsal players from Miri have earned selection with PFA Odin FC for the 2026 Malaysia Premier Futsal League (MPFL), boosting their prospects of representing Sarawak at SUKMA in Selangor.

They are Muhammad Amierul Aqmal Aslan, Arif Afdzal Iman Elkwan and Eferdinand Dominic Simon.

The trio impressed during selection trials and will now compete at the national level with PFA Odin FC.

Their inclusion in the MPFL marks a significant step up in competition, offering them valuable exposure at the national level ahead of SUKMA 2026.

Among them, Amierul stands out for winning a gold medal in sailing at SUKMA 2024, alongside football achievements that include back-to-back Under-20 titles with Miri in 2022 and 2023, as well as appearances in the Sarawak Premier League in 2024.

The call-up also places all three players in a stronger position to stake a claim for a place in Sarawak’s futsal squad for the upcoming Games.
