KUCHING: The Sarawakku Sayang (SKS) Programme 2026 will begin in the Limbang Division from Apr 10 to 12, serving as a one-stop platform that brings together government services, assistance and economic opportunities closer to the people.

Limbang has been selected as the inaugural location for this year’s programme, which will subsequently be extended to other divisions across Sarawak until November, reflecting the state government’s continued commitment to inclusive and accessible service delivery.

Deputy Minister for Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development and Bukit Kota assemblyman Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail described the programme as an important platform that bridges the gap between the public and government agencies.

He said the initiative enables various government agencies to be placed under one roof, making it easier for the public to engage directly while saving time and costs.

“As a representative of the people, I sincerely welcome the organisation of the SKS and would like to express my appreciation to the state government for selecting Limbang as the inaugural host,” he said.

He was speaking at the Juh Randau programme produced by Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) at the UKAS Studio on Wednesday (Apr 8).

Among the highlights of the programme are free health screenings, distribution of assistance including the Sumbangan Keperluan Asas Sarawak (SKAS), as well as economic opportunities for local entrepreneurs through the Limbang Kitchen platform.

Meanwhile, Limbang Resident Unus Tambi said several coordination meetings have been held with relevant agencies, including the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), RELA, the Department of Agriculture and the District Office, to ensure the smooth implementation of the programme.

He pointed out that the Limbang Kitchen will provide a platform for local entrepreneurs to conduct business and promote their products, while the programme is also expected to attract strong public participation.

“Besides this, there are other attractions such as e-competitions offering prizes including motorcycles, smartphones, smart TVs and electrical appliances, as well as performances by local artists on Apr 10 and 11. These attractions are expected to draw crowds,” he said.

The official launch ceremony which will be officiated by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, is scheduled to take place on April 11 at 10.30am at the Limbang Sports Complex

Members of the public, particularly residents of Limbang and surrounding areas including Lawas, Miri, Sabah, Labuan and Brunei Darussalam, are encouraged to attend the programme, which aims to strengthen ties between the government and the people while stimulating the local economy.
