KUCHING: A blood donation drive, held by the Youth Section of Chung Hua Middle School (CHMS) No. 1 Alumni Association of Kuching, gained overwhelming support from the public last Saturday at Boulevard Shopping Mall here.
The event successfully attracted 170 registrants and collected 159 pints of blood, achieving a 94 per cent success rate, reflecting strong community participation in voluntary blood donation.
The drive was held in collaboration with Sarawak General Hospital (SGH), the Malaysian Red Crescent (Kuching Chapter), and the SGH Blood Bank, whose combined expertise and manpower ensured the smooth execution of the programme.
The Youth Section of CHMS emphasised that each pint of donated blood represents a precious gift of life, bringing hope to patients in need, and demonstrates a growing awareness and commitment among the public toward life-saving initiatives.
The association further expressed its gratitude to all blood donors, medical personnel, volunteers, sponsors, and staff for their dedication and selfless efforts.
“Every donor is a hero,” it said, adding that each act of donation is a meaningful contribution toward saving lives and strengthening the community.
Looking ahead, the association remains committed to organising similar charitable initiatives and encourages more members of the public to take part in future blood donation campaigns.
“Let love continue, and we look forward to seeing everyone again next year.”
