CAIRO: At least seven people were killed on Tuesday in a fire that broke out inside a clothing factory in the Egyptian Capital, Cairo, according to official media, reported Xinhua.

The victims’ bodies were transferred to a hospital, while security forces cordoned off the area to ensure public safety, state-run Ahram newspaper reported.

Civil defence forces immediately deployed several fire engines and ambulances to the scene to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby buildings.

The public prosecution and forensic experts have begun inspecting the site to determine the exact causes and circumstances of the incident, the daily newspaper added. – BERNAMA-XINHUA
