KOTA SAMARAHAN: Eight premises were inspected during integrated vape enforcement operations conducted here from April 13 to 17.
Acting Kota Samarahan Police Chief, DSP Barry William, said the operations were aimed at detecting and monitoring the sale and distribution of vape products, particularly those containing prohibited substances.
He said the operations involved personnel from the district’s Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division, the Samarahan Division Health Office, and the Kota Samarahan Municipal Council.
“Throughout the operations, a total of eight premises were inspected and no offences were detected,” he said in a statement.
He added that enforcement was carried out under provisions of the Control of Smoking Products for Public Health Act 2024, as well as relevant laws and regulations under local authorities.
Barry said the operations would be conducted continuously as a proactive measure to safeguard public well-being and monitor the sale of vape products, especially among youths.
He also advised the public to avoid involvement in drug abuse, and urged parents to monitor their children to ensure that they do not use cigarettes or vape products, particularly those containing illicit substances.
