KUCHING: The dominance of Sting Muaythai Club proved hard to match as they were crowned overall champions in both the 10th Edition of the TYT Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak Muaythai Championship and the Borneo Cup 2026.
The club secured the TYT Muaythai Championship title with an impressive haul of 35 medals, comprising 22 gold and 13 silver.
They finished ahead of Muaythai Kenyalang, who placed second with 29 medals (16 gold, 13 silver), while Kilas Petra Jaya Muaythai Club came third with 30 medals (13 gold, 17 silver).
Sting Muaythai Club carried that momentum into the Borneo Cup 2026, once again emerging overall champions with the same tally of 35 medals (22 gold, 13 silver).
Muaythai Kenyalang finished second with 31 medals (18 gold, 13 silver), while DSHA Muayfit Tawau placed third with 29 medals (18 gold, 11 silver).
Meanwhile, Rentap Muaythai clinched the Mayor’s Trophy of the Kuching North City Commission (DBKU).
The prize presentation ceremony was officiated by Kuching North Mayor Datuk Hilmy Othman. Also present were Sarawak Sports Corporation acting chief executive officer Khairul Nizam Morshidi, Sarawak Muaythai Association president Jumaat Ibrahim, and representatives from various government agencies.
The four-day championship, held from April 16 to 19, featured 350 athletes, including competitors from Indonesia, Brunei Darussalam, Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines.
