KUCHING: Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar has received an official invitation to attend the Sarawak Orang Ulu National Association (OUNA) 60th Diamond Jubilee Thanksgiving Dinner, during a courtesy visit at Astana Sarawak today (April 22).
The invitation was presented by a delegation from OUNA led by its President, Datuk Dr Abu Bakar Abdullah @ Tom Belarek.
The upcoming celebration is scheduled to be held in Miri this July, with Wan Junaidi and Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi invited as guests of honour.
During the visit, Wan Junaidi shared reflections from his service in the Police Field Force, recalling his experience working alongside personnel from the Iban and Orang Ulu communities.
He highlighted the challenges of operating in remote areas, as well as the importance of discipline, resilience and teamwork in public service.
His remarks were said to have inspired those present, particularly in relation to strengthening unity among Sarawak’s multi-ethnic society.
Wan Junaidi and Fauziah expressed appreciation for the courtesy visit and the invitation.
The engagement also underscored OUNA’s continued efforts to promote unity and uplift the Orang Ulu community in Sarawak.
