KUCHING: The Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN) paid a courtesy call on Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, at the Astana Negeri Sarawak on Wednesday.

The LHDN delegation was led by its chief executive officer, Datuk Dr Abu Tariq Jamaluddin, and included senior leadership members such as Sarawak State director Abang Ehsan Abang Abu Bakar, as well as state operations officers.

According to him, the visit aimed to introduce LHDN’s leadership in Sarawak to Wan Junaidi while also sharing the latest developments regarding tax collection performance and the implementation of various LHDN initiatives in the state.

During the meeting, LHDN also presented Sarawak’s taxation performance and highlighted its key activities, including the implementation of e-invoicing, which is currently one of the organisation’s main focuses.

He explained that the e-invoicing initiative has now entered its fourth phase, involving the participation of small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

In this regard, he said LHDN Sarawak will continue to intensify efforts in providing guidance and support to SMEs across the state to ensure they are prepared and able to effectively adopt the e-invoicing system.

The visit reflects LHDN’s ongoing commitment to strengthening strategic relations with state institutions and ensuring the smooth implementation of national taxation policies at the Sarawak state level.
