KUCHING: The Sustainable Palm Oil Forum (SPOF) 2026 will address pressing issues, emerging risks and new opportunities shaping the future of sustainable palm oil.
Organised by the Sarawak Palm Oil Owners Association (SOPPOA), the forum will be held on August 19 to 20 at the Imperial Hotel, Bintulu, bringing together key stakeholders across the palm oil value chain to strengthen sustainability practices and industry resilience.
SPOF 2026 is positioned as a premier cross-supply chain platform, gathering participants from upstream, midstream and downstream sectors, including plantation companies, millers, refiners, traders, financiers, technology providers and end-users.
SOPPOA Chairman, Datuk Joseph Blandoi, said the forum reflects the industry’s continued commitment to sustainability and its critical role in supporting Sarawak’s green economy aspirations.
“The palm oil industry has made significant progress in sustainability. SPOF 2026 provides a timely platform for stakeholders to come together, share practical solutions, and strengthen collaboration across the supply chain.
“The is essential to ensure that sustainable practices are effectively implemented while maintaining competitiveness in both local and global markets,” he said in a statement issued by SOPPOA today (April 26).
He added that the forum will place strong emphasis on translating policies into actionable strategies, enabling industry players to better manage compliance requirements, sustainability risks and evolving market expectations.
“Sustainability today is not only about compliance, but also about unlocking opportunities.
“Through SPOF 2026, we aim to equip participants with the knowledge, tools and networks needed to drive sustainable growth in line with the Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030,” he added.
SOPPOA will be inviting Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg to officiate the forum.
In addition to the conference, an exhibition will be held concurrently, showcasing the latest products, technologies and services that support sustainable palm oil operations.
SOPPOA is welcoming participation from industry players, policymakers, financial institutions, service providers and international stakeholders.
