KUCHING: Team Malaysia faces a daunting test in the 2026 Uber Cup quarter-finals after being drawn against defending champions China at the Forum Horsens, Denmark tomorrow.
The national women’s team advanced as Group B runners-up, while China topped Group A, reinforcing their status as favourites with a record 16 titles in the competition.
Malaysia’s progression marks their first quarter-final appearance in 16 years, having last reached the stage in 2010.
Their campaign opened with a narrow 3-2 win over Turkey, followed by a dominant 5-0 victory against South Africa, before a 4-1 defeat to six-time champions Japan.
In other quarter-final ties, Group B winners Japan will face Thailand, while Group C champions Indonesia take on hosts Denmark. Two-time champions South Korea are set to meet Taiwan.
The tournament, which began on April 24, will conclude on May 3.
