YANGON, Myanmar: Myanmar’s former State Counsellor, Aung San Suu Kyi, was allowed to move from a prison to a designated residence to serve the remainder of her sentence on Thursday (April 30), Xinhua reported.
According to the state-owned Myanmar Radio and Television (MRTV), Myanmar’s President, U Min Aung Hlaing, ordered the change of the imprisonment location of Aung San Suu Kyi in accordance with relevant provisions of the criminal law.
The decision was made on the occasion of Buddha Day and based on humanitarian grounds and the state’s goodwill, the report said. – BERNAMA-XINHUA
