PASIR PUTEH: The Malaysian Islamic Economic Development Foundation (YAPEIM) has spent RM17.02 million under its Sinar Lestari Programme to implement 374 home projects nationwide, comprising new constructions and repairs, from 2020 to March this year.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Dr Zulkifli Hasan said the projects included 228 repair works and 146 new houses, of which, 268 have been completed, while 106 are still under construction.
He added that from 1985 to Dec 2025, YAPEIM has distributed more than RM753 million, benefiting over 10.1 million recipients nationwide.
“The assistance covers economic development, education and community programmes, implemented in an inclusive and systematic manner under the #MadaniMembantu campaign,” he said after the handover of a Sinar Lestari house to an asnaf recipient, Siti Khadijah Zulkifli, 38, who received a newly built home worth RM80,000 here today.
Earlier, Zulkifli also handed over a similar house to another asnaf recipient, Mohd Kamal Yaakob, 44, in Jerteh, Terengganu. – BERNAMA
