KUCHING: Sarawak have finalised a 12-fighter muaythai squad for the SUKMA 2026 Games in Selangor as preparations shift towards centralised training and overseas exposure.
Sarawak SUKMA’s muaythai head coach, Ajan Putra, said the final squad comprises eight male and four female fighters.

“We already have the final list that will represent Sarawak at SUKMA Selangor 2026,” he said when met recently.
He added that the selected athletes earned their places through evaluations conducted over the past several months, including performances during training sessions and competitions.
“The selected athletes were assessed not only during training, but also through several tournaments they participated in previously,” he added.
Ajan said the squad’s focus has now shifted towards centralised preparations, including a training camp in Sematan.
Meanwhile, Sarawak Muaythai Association’s (PMNS) President, Jumaat Ibrahim, said more comprehensive preparations are being arranged for the athletes ahead of the Games.
“Our plan is to bring all the athletes for overseas training. The date has not been finalised yet, but they are likely to depart in the near future,” he said.
