SEMATAN: The Land and Survey Department (JTS) donated a total of RM90,000 through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme for the development of education and community facilities in the Tanjong Datu.

Tanjung Datu assemblyman, Azizul Annuar Adenan, said the contribution not only helped improve basic facilities, but also served as a catalyst for the well-being of rural communities.

He pointed out that the involvement of the corporate sector is vital in assisting the government to address community needs, particularly in infrastructure, internet connectivity, and the upgrading of educational and community facilities.

“This clearly reflects our priority in strengthening education and community infrastructure, and I hope contributions from corporate parties such as Magna Focus Sdn Bhd will help address local issues involving infrastructure, internet access, and the upgrading of school buildings and community halls for the benefit of students and the local community,” he said.

He said this during the presentation ceremony of the 2026 CSR Fund Contribution Cheques under the JTS 6th Series at Kampung Tanah Hitam Hall here on Thursday (May 7).

The funds were distributed to eight recipients involving educational institutions and Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK) in the Sematan and Lundu areas.

The five educational institutions that received contributions were SMK Sematan, SK Sematan, SJKC Chung Hua Serayan/Selarat, SJKC Chung Hua Sematan, and Tadika Kemas Kampung Tanah Hitam.

Also receiving contributions were village committees from Kampung Tanah Hitam, Trusan Jaya and Kampung Temaga Melayu to support community activities and the improvement of village facilities.
