SHAH ALAM: A Selangor property manager won RM14.8 million in the Sports Toto 4D Jackpot after betting on old car registration numbers he had kept for more than a decade.
The 52-year-old struck the jackpot in Draw No. 6127/26 held on Wednesday (May 6) after the numbers “9186 & 4828” matched, earning him RM14,818,901.35 along with a System Play bonus of RM336.
The winning bet was placed using the System 3 method with a total stake of RM6.
“I have been betting on these numbers for over 10 years because they remind me of my old cars and the memories attached to them.
“I never expected both numbers would strike in the same draw,” he said when collecting his prize at the STM Lottery Sdn. Bhd. head office.
The winner admitted he had previously been sceptical about jackpot-winning stories published in newspapers, especially during festive seasons.
“Whenever I read about jackpot winners, I used to ask myself whether these stories were really true.
“Now that I have personally experienced it, I can say the winning stories are indeed real,” he added.
He said part of the winnings would be used to purchase a branded car, while another portion would be invested in property and managed carefully for long-term financial security.
The same draw also produced a second Jackpot 1 winner from Kuala Lumpur, who won RM1,975,853.50 using the i-System betting method.
In total, the draw distributed RM16.8 million in jackpot prizes.
STM Lottery Sdn. Bhd. confirmed both wins as part of its routine disclosure of major jackpot results.
